Collaborators.

The Sustainability Fair is a collaboration between the University of Minnesota, Saint Anthony Village, the City of Falcon Heights, the City of Lauderdale, and the Three Rivers Park District.

Saint Anthony Village

Saint Anthony Village has always loved its community, and in recent years its people have begun to focus more intently on sustainable living. The diverse skills and interests of the community ensure the enjoyment of our natural resources now and in the future. A community effort has been pivotal in helping the City hold workshops, festivals, and programs to make Saint Anthony a more sustainable place to live.

Lauderdale

Lauderdale is a close-knit community of 2,400 people in the heart of the metro.  Residents enjoy the City’s well-maintained parks and abundance of city-sponsored cultural events.  Lauderdale has a history of being penny wise.  The City’s priority has been to maintain its assets to ensure optimal life expectancy and develop strategic partnerships as needed to provide optimal service.

Three Rivers Park District

Silverwood Park is a part of the Three Rivers Park District. Three Rivers operates with a mission to “Promote environmental stewardship through education and recreation in a natural resource based park district”. Under this mission the park district operates a wide variety of facilities including bike trails, campgrounds, nature centers, a living history park, and the Silverwood Park Center for Arts and the Environment. Across the park district, many aspects of sustainable design can be found in the parks. Parking lots feature pervious pavers and rain gardens, facilities utilize photovoltaic solar arrays, organic recycling takes place across all of the parks, buildings have been built to the Minnesota B3 standards and much more. Educational classes about these amenities are offered by professional educators throughout the year. Parks are free and open to the public year round.  Learn more about Three Rivers Park District’s sustainability effort by visiting https://www.threeriversparks.org/natural-resources/sustainability-efforts.aspx
